Heh, thought I'd better change the journal, its been a while.

I went back to Alderney in the Channel Islands for a week, for the first time in 6 years. I have to say, it lives up to every childhood memory. I spent just about every summer there when I was a child, and apart from things feeling smaller, and some new developments, it hasn't changed a bit. The bus driver is even the same, even if the bus isn't (it went in for repairs, they're using a minibus). It did however, feel a LOT more empty. Every evening we'd eat out, and often they'd be only one or two other occupied tables at the places we were at the entire evening, although the bus driver says its been more busy than a couple of years ago.

So I'm home again, and this year, I managed to avoid sunburn! I have a lovely tan, thanks to gorgeous weather nearly every day and factor 30 suncream XD
It rained one day, every other day was blue skies and a little wind, it was wonderful.

The only sad development was that the restaurant "Le Courier" was gone. We used to be great friends with the owners, and I remember several happy birthday dinners there, including one with a strawberry and cream cake made by Ingrid (owner of the cafe, and later the guest house we stay/stayed in). As for my brithday this year, I'll probably just try to pass it by, I think I must be getting on everyone's nerves already with my "omigod I'm going to old soon!" spiel.
